Pac-Man™
Old School Video Game Video Slots
(05/05/04)

Jackpot:
5 Pac-Man™ name symbols
on any payline (or the 9th payline)  wins the jackpot

The Good:
If you had Pac-Man fever back in the 80's, then you will
find it hard to resist dropping some money in this machine.
3 different bonus games are available.  The free spin bonus
gives you 7 free spins with a multiplier for each spin.
The maze bonus features the classic game board as you
pick one of the four power pellets.  If Pac-Man reaches that
pellet before the ghosts get him, then you are awarded
credits and you get to pick another pellet.  Keep picking until
the ghosts get you... The third bonus is the easiest as all
you need is a Pac-Man symbol on the first reel and he will
try to eat as much fruit that you have showing on other
reels... each fruit eaten awards you credits.

The Bad:
Location is everything and this version of Pac-Man has
only showed up in Indian Casinos.  I'm not sure if any Vegas
casinos carry this machine as it may be too apealing to kids.

Best Win:
We received around 250 credits on the Maze
Bonus game, while playing only one
coin per line.

Love to Win™
Dating Video Slots

Jackpot:
5 Love to Win™ symbols

The Good:
There's nothing like dating again and in this game, if you're
lucky enough to get the bonus game, you get to set up a couple
of your choice on a date, pick the destination, and pick
the finish of the date. Credits are awarded on the type
of car the boy pulls up in, (Anything from a bus to a
nice car), the gift he gives the girl, and their first
impressions. During the date you get awarded credits
on how well the kids get along in a conversation. At the
end of the date, you get awarded credits based on the
final outcome with the best being a wedding in Vegas.

The Bad:
The infrequent nature of this bonus game.
I also haven't seen these machines available
in penny denominations.

Best Win:
We received over 400 credits on the dating
Bonus game, while playing only one
coin per line.

Big Tippers™
Casino Employee Video Slots

Jackpot:
5 Big Tipper™ symbols

The Good:
Combining Video Slots with a cocktail waitress usually
results in a free drink... but not in this interesting slot machine.
Getting three cocktail waitresses on the first three reels
starts the bonus game.  You get to pick drinks from the bar
and then serve them to the casino goers of your choice.
There tips will correspond to the amount of credits you win.
If you are fortunate enough, you will get to go to the
High Rollers room, where the tips are much bigger.

The Bad:
20 lines isn't ever friendly to your casino budget.
Also, there is only one bonus game, which doesn't come up
all that frequently...

Best Win:
I received over 500 credits on the
Bonus game, while playing only one
coin per line.

Locations:
This machine is of the older generation of video slots
and not available everywhere.

Roll Credits™
Movie-going Video Slots
(04/14/04)

Jackpot:
5 Roll Credits™ symbols
on any payline (or the ninth payline)  wins the jackpot
with max coins bet.

The Good:
Three Bonus games, of which, the Movie Review Bonus
is by far the most fun.  You pick a genre of movie, which
will reveal the number of reviews you get on the next screen.
You then get to choose from different movie critics, which
offer you credits or, better yet, a double feature, which allows
you to do it all over again with another movie.
For the Ticket Bonus, you get to pick from 3 tickets and get
awarded credits, credits and an extra pick, or as an interesting
twist, the Movie Review Bonus Game.  This game feature pretty
good sound and graphics.

The Bad:
I have played this game many, many times and have yet to
reach the Movie Review Bonus... I want to try that, but I guess
this machine is not on my cycle or vice versa...

Best Win:
I think we got 800+ coins in the Test Pattern
Bonus game, which features a countdown after lining
up 3 Test Pattern Symbols.

My Rich Uncle™
Inheritance Video Slots
(03/24/04)

Jackpot:
5 Wild Rich Uncle™ symbols
on any payline wins the jackpot

The Good:
The Uncle Mega Bux's Last Will and Testament Bonus Game
features the reading of Uncle's will.  You pick a character
and whatever items that is left to your character,
award you credits.  Snide remarks are passed back
and forth among the relatives as each item is read off.
The portrait of Uncle Mega Bux is wild on the reels
and there is another bonus game which occurs when you
receive three of more safe symbols anywhere on the reels.
You then get to choose a safe to reveal the credits inside.
The sound and graphics are pretty good on this game.

The Bad:
It seems really hard to get the bonus game as I haven't
had much luck with this game.  And it's not like the
machine seems to pay very much when you line
up three of a symbol.

Best Win:
I think we received 500 credits for lining up 5 of this weird
brown symbol... I don't even know what it is...

Kenny Rogers™
Know When to Fold 'em Video Slots

Jackpot:
5 Wild Kenny Rogers™ symbols
on any payline wins the jackpot

The Good:
The Free Spin Express Bonus is a lot of fun as you
you get to pick a box car that reveals the number of
free spins and another box car to pick the multiplier.
The Gambler Bonus is a poker game where you get to hold
the hand you are dealt or fold 'em and try for a better hand.
I think you get 3 to 5 chances to hold 'em or fold 'em.
There is a wild symbol that helps you out, but not with the
bonus symbols.

The Bad:
You have to line up 5, yes 5, of the Free Spin Express symbols
in order to get to the best bonus game. A tough task
even with 15 lines. Other regular card symbols, like
aces, kings, queens, etc. don't line up too often.

Best Win:
We somehow got the Free Spin Express bonus and during the free spins
we received the Gambler bonus game which we parlayed into
about 800 credits... not bad for playing 1 coin per line.

Locations:
Look for the carousel of IGT video slots and hopefully
the gambler will be there...

Superstitious Video Slots
(03/03/04)

Jackpot:
5 Wild Hexbreaker™ symbols

The Good:
The wild symbol can only be a good thing...
of course, it isn't wild for the bonus symbols.
There are two bonus games, the one that is the most fun
is the ladder bonus.  A cat moves up and down a ladder,
kind of in a circle.  You pick spaces on the fortune board
that reveal the number of rungs the cat will move along the ladder.
The key is not to land on a rung that you landed on before as
that ends the bonus round.  Everytime you circle around the ladder
the values of the rungs increase.
The second bonus game, Mirror Mirror, features 13 mirrors of which
you break 5.  Each mirror reveals credits and you are searching
for hidden treasure symbols that award bonus credits.
Try to find all 5 treasure symbols.

The Bad:
Superstitious people may not like this game, especially those
that don't like the number 13.  This game allows you to play,
as you would expect, 13 lines.

Best Win:
On the ladder bonus, we made our way around the ladder
three times and cashed in about 200 credits.  Nothing spectacular...

Locations:
As with most new machines, this one is popping up
here and there...

Buffet Mania™
Dinner Time Video Slots

Jackpot:

The Good:
Two fun bonus games.  In the Chef Nut Bar Bonus, you
try to advance levels by picking a main course, side dish, and
dessert.  You get to choose four items from 15 dishes.
Complete the trio in four picks and it's off to the next level.
In the Crash Diet Bonus, you get the always fun
free spin bonus.  You can re-trigger more free spins during this
round and with every spin the multiplier increases!
There is also a wild bonus symbol (Buffet Mania)
that helps you line up items.
The graphics and sound are excellent!

The Bad:
Sometimes everything seems to line up and other times
(most of the time) nothing lines up at all.  Especially those
bonus symbols. 
Bonus symbol... Bonus symbol... Doh!
20 lines make for some early departures...

Best Win:
We lined up five of the girl symbol.
I believe that payed 1000 coins with one coin bet per line.

Enchanted Unicorn™
Unicorn Video Slots

The Good:
There are Wild Unicorn symbols on reels two, three, and four.
They make their entire reel wild, which enables you line up
symbols in almost every direction since this is a 20 line game.
Can you imagine getting all three unicorn symbols on one spin?
Cha-Ching!
There is also a Treasure Chest Bonus, which is a lot of fun.
You get 6? different chests to pick from as you move up
6? lines of chests to get to the jackpot.  Revealing a unicorn
in a chest awards you all the treasure chests in that line.
Pick a werewolf and your bonus round comes to an end.
I can't remember the exact number of chests or line of chests
as it has been a while since I've played this game.

The Bad:
20 lines... Again, the more lines, the shorter
your stay may be at this machine.
With three unicorns available, you would think they would show
up frequently, but that isn't the case.
Also getting a unicorn doesn't guarantee a winning spin...

Best Win:
I've been waiting to review this machine, because I've
hoped to get a decent payout to write about... but, I'm still
waiting on that payout...

That Girl™
Classic TV Video Slots
(02/04/04)

Jackpot:
5 That Girl™ symbols

The Good:
Two wild symbols that make the entire reel wild...
a la Marilyn Monroe and Unicorn machines.  Just find the
That Girl Kite and it will make either the second or fourth
reel completely wild.  Playing 25 lines with a wild second reel
wild can add up to a lot of credits.  Having both the second & fourth
reels wilds can make for quite a handsome payout.
There is also a Fashion Bonus game where you get three spins
to match all four of Anne Marie's outfit.
This game features excellent graphics and sound.

The Bad:
25 lines sounds like you will have a hit or miss
experience at this machine...
Mostly miss, if the casino has anything to say about it...
The kite seems to be a bit streaky...

Best Win:
We lined up four of one of the Anne Marie symbols
that paid about 500 coins with one coin bet per line.
Of course we had help from the That Girl Kite...

Family Feud™
Game Show Video Slots
(01/28/04)

Jackpot:
5 Family Feud™ wild symbols

The Good:
I don't have a lot of good to say about this machine...
It always seems to just take my money without giving
me any play...  The graphics and sound are good, although
I haven't made it to any bonus rounds...
It sounds like the bonus game is fun as it features free spins,
up to 100, and you get to play the Feud!
I wish I could tell you more, but I can't even line up
two of the bonus symbols, let alone three.

The Bad:
Well, I would like to play this game as a penny
machine, so my money wouldn't go so fast...
I simply can't win... that's the bad for me...

Best Win:
Maybe, I've received 10 coins for lining up
three "Let's Play" symbols...

Cops and Donuts™
Mmm Donuts Video Slots

Jackpot:
5 Cops and Donuts™ wild symbols

The Good:
20 lines is both good and bad.  You have a better shot at
lining up the bonus symbols the more lines there are.
The Speed Trap Bonus is a fun bonus game where you have
a choice of 6 excuses to give the police officer that has just
pulled you over.  Of the 6 excuses, all of which award you credits,
one excuse carries a bonus multiplier and another carries an
additional pick.  The other bonus game features Officer Chip
at the Donut shop.  You select donuts for the officer to devour.
The Cops and Donuts Symbol is wild (except for bonus symbols
and scatter pay symbols) and helps when trying to line up
symbols.  Especially any five police officers, which pays 100 credits
per coin bet per line.  This game also features whimsical graphics
with excellent sound and music.

The Bad:
Once again, the 20 lines can also be a negative.
When the machine goes cold, your credits disappear in
a hurry.  When symbols don't line up, you can play 100 lines
and it won't matter. 

Best Win:
I believe we lined up five of one of the officers
which paid a whopping  500 coins.  Not bad for playing one
coin per line.

Big Times Pay™
aka Mystery Multiplier Slots

Jackpot:
3 Big Times Pay™ symbols
on the middle payline wins the jackpot (4000 coins)
with two coins bet.

The Good:
The fun of lining up symbols on the middle line with
at least one of the symbols being a wild Big Times Pay symbol,
which initiates the spin of the fourth reel.  Whichever multiplier
you get will substitute for the Big Times Pay symbol.
Multipliers vary between 2x and 10x.  Your best case scenario
is lining up any symbol with a pair of Big Times Pay symbols
and then a nice 10x symbol on your fourth reel.  That will pay
10x the payout for lining up three of the other symbol on your payline.
It only takes two coins to play max coins and win the jackpot.

The Bad:
Pumping in bill after bill and not getting one Big Times Pay symbol.
Or how about everytime you do get the Big Times Pay symbol to
come out, you always get the 2x symbol on the fourth reel.
In order to get the fourth reel to spin, you must play max credits.
Don't go crying to any change attendants if you hit something and
wonder why the fourth reel doesn't spin...
just put in two coins to start with!

Best Win:
I think I once received 50 coins for a cherry with a
Big Times Pay symbol that rewarded me with a 10x.

Just head for the machines with the "Big Times Pay" symbol
flashing above the machine.  (see picture above)  Or listen
for the annoying (to me) "Big Times Pay" phrase that the
machine bellows out whenever someone gets to spin
the fourth reel.

This video slot features a huge deathstar above the game

Austin Powers in Goldmember:
Similar to the Deathstar in Star Wars, there is a gold
disco ball that works as a wheel.  The wheel features extra
spins that can pile up.  I saw a guy taking his 56th spin with
24 spins remaining...

Monopoly Once Around Deluxe:
Similar to the original, once you get the bonus game
you roll the dice and run around the classic monopoly board.
The "Deluxe" feature is that if you land exactly on "Go", you
you get to go around the board again.

Get ready for:
18 reel video slots... 5 reels just won't cut it anymore.
40 line video slots... It'll cost a fortune just to cover the 40
500 coin max bet machines... even if that is a penny machine,
that is still $5.00 a spin.

Comedy Central Video Slots

Jackpot:

The Good:
I believe there were 6 different bonus games.  Yes 6, dude!
Excellent animation of their characters, funny voiceovers, and
their familiar theme song.  There is a matching game, similar to
the original Austin Powers Video Slots matching game.
There is a Dodge Ball Game, where you throw the ball at
the different kids until one of them catches the ball.  There are
two Cartman bonus games:  one in which he eats and the other
in which he sings.  The Terrance & Phillip Bonus Game and
Kenny in the cash machine round out the incredible assortment
of bonus games.  The Mr. Garrison symbol doubles any line
winner you have with him in it, mmmkay...  The South Park
sign symbol is wild for the word symbols, Dude, Sweet, Cool,
Weak, and the always entertaining Hooray!

The Bad:
You can't find this machine anywhere...
Something about kids wanting to play slots...
Another down side was that with 6 bonus games, the bonus
symbols always get in the way when you try to line things up!
Also, none of the bonus games will pay you anything too
outrageous...

Best Win:
During the Dodge Ball Bonus Game, we knocked out all the kids
and the only one left was the one who was going to catch the
ball.  When we threw him the ball, he awarded us with a bonus
win of 500 coins for clearing the screen.  We must've cashed in
about 800 coins on that one bonus game.

Locations:
Not available anywhere in Las Vegas as they were deemed too
appealing to children or something like that...
Even though that show is cleary targeted for adult humor.
I hear that Harrah's Indian Casino has one machine.
Pala got rid of their two machines about a year ago.

Super Cherry
Super Fruity Video Slots

Jackpot:
Five "Super Cherry" Wild Symbols on the 15th line
with max coins played rewards the jackpot.

The Good:
The Call to Action Bonus Game!  You need to have the three
jailed veggie symbols out on reels 1, 2, and 3 to initiate the
bonus game.  During the free spins, your bonus multiplier
increases every time a Super Cherry symbol comes out.  So,
let's say you are on spin number 4 and you've had 3 Super Cherry's
(2x, 3x, 4x) appear so far, whatever you get on spin number
4 will be multiplied by 4.  If you get another Super Cherry on Spin
number 4, the multiplier will increase for spin number 5.
Your multiplier can get really high for your last few spins...
The Line-up Bonus is okay and having the Wild Cherry symbol
helps line up things on the reels.

The Bad:
Fifteen lines depletes your credits in a hurry, but wait until
you see the 30 and 40 line video slots that are coming soon.
We've gone through a Call to Action Bonus Game without getting
one Super Cherry symbol, thus the multiplier never moved and
stayed at 1X for all 10 free spins.  I think we cashed in about
50 credits on that glorious bonus round.  Remember you can
increase the multiplier all you want, but you better line things up
during the free spins... 9X nothing = nothing.

Best Win:
After getting the Call to Action Bonus Game, we got the
multiplier up to 10X by the last spin and must have cashed in
about 2000 coins on that one bonus round...

which makes it a lot easier to cover all 15 pay lines.

The Munsters™
Classic TV Video Slots

Jackpot:
5 Fred™ symbols
on any payline wins the jackpot
with max coins bet.

The Good:
Lining up 5 coins on a payline takes you to the always fun
(but sometimes disappointing) Munster Match Bonus Game.
You keep picking squares until you reveal three matching squares.
There is one square that is a multiplier and the squares to match
are Fred.  There are, of course, less of his squares out there
than the other characters.  The Wild Bat symbol is wild for
character symbols and for all three spots on the entire reel.
The reels that the bat can appear on is reel two and four.
Find a machine that has 15-20 lines and the bat becomes
extremely rewarding!  There is another bonus game, Find the Monster,
but it is rather boring to say the least.  The music on this game is
terrific (the Munsters theme song) and video scenes from the show
appear when you win big.  This machine pays both left to right and
right to left.

The Bad:
Getting the Find the Monster Bonus Game isn't all that great.  We
once got all 5 Monsters out on the screen and our bonus was a
disappointing 45 coins.  Another tough luck situation is getting
the bat symbol to come out, but not having any character symbols
to match with... what a waste...

Best Win:
During the Munster Match Bonus Game, we once found the multiplier
and matched 3 Fred squares which added up to 1000 coins.
We won't be holding our breaths for that to happen again...

Money Storm™
Tornado Video Slots

Jackpot:

The Good:
Another game with a Free Spins Bonus Game.
Lining up 3 or more Tornado Symbols starts
the Bonus Spins Game.  Similar to the Catch-a-Wave Bonus
Game your bonus spins pay based upon scatter pay values.
In other words, you don't need to line up symbols as
all that counts is the number of each symbol that appear.
Getting three or more tornado symbols during the Bonus Spins,
rewards you with additional Free Spins.  If you initially line up 3
bonus symbols, you get 3 free spins.  Line up four and you get 5
free spins.  Should you line up 5 bonus symbols get ready for
15 free bonus spins!
There is another bonus game, but you get to do nothing,
so I can't say that it is very fun.

The Bad:
No wild symbol.  You get no help lining up symbols.
This game features 20 lines of play which means you can
seriously go through your bankroll in a hurry.  And like Catch-a-Wave,
the bonus game doesn't guarantee instant riches...

Best Win:
We lined up 3 Tornado Symbols and during the 3 free spins, we
got to add on 3 more spins.  Not a huge win, but we got
around 700 coins.  We were only
playing one coin per line.

Catch a Wave™
Surf & Turf Video Slots

Jackpot:

The Good:
Free Spins Bonus Game. Lining up 3 Wave Bonus Symbols starts
the Bonus Spins Game.  You get 3 free spins that pay based on scatter pay values.  In other words, you don't need to line up
symbols, all that counts is the number of each symbol that appear.
Getting three or more Wave symbols during the Bonus Spins, rewards
you with additional Free Spins.  If you initially line up 3 bonus
symbols, you get 3 free spins.  Line up four and you get 5 or 7, I think
7 free spins.  Should you line up 5 bonus symbols get ready for 15
free bonus spins!  Another good thing is lining up three of the
blond guy, girl, or big guy pays 100 coins. (per coin per line)

in your money, it sings the denomination to you!

The Bad:
No wild symbol.  You get no help lining up symbols.
With 15 lines, your money can go fast if you can't line anything
up.  We've reached the bonus game and cashed in a cool 36 coins.
So, the bonus game doesn't guarantee instant riches...

Best Win:
We lined up 5 Bonus Symbols and during the 15 free spins, we
got to add on more spins here and there.  I think we finished with
24 spins and about 1500 coins.  Again, we were only
playing one coin per line.

The Good:
Three Different Bonus Games.
The best bonus game is the Parking Meter Bonus Game that
features 5 free spins in which you are trying to get as many coins
as you can during the free spins.  The coins are tallied by reel and
the more coins you get on a single reel, the higher the payback.
The Free Parking Bonus game starts when you line up 3 or more
parking booths.  You then get to choose from an assortment of
parking spaces and then the cars, which are worth different amounts
of coins, come in and you get bonuses if they park in the spaces you
picked.  When Mr. Monopoly comes in, he will either park in a space
you didn't pick or take you to a new screen, the Executive parking
lot where the bonus amounts increase.  In the third bonus game,
Railroad Crossing Bonus, you need 3 or more scattered railroads
and then pick one of the engine cars to reveal your bonus...  not all
that exciting if you ask me...  although you can get occasional extra
coins if flatbed cars follow the engine car.

The Bad:
I would have to say that the bonus games could have been
done better as the only one that is really fun is the Parking
Meter bonus.  Everything is classic Monopoly video slots with
the reels and symbols... nothing spectacular.  With 5 or 6 video
slot varieties, you would think they would jazz it up a bit...

Best Win:
Nothing too spectacular to report at this time.  I have been
able to play all the bonus games and would play it again.

Where can we play video slots for free/fun?
A question that I am asked alot...

The Good:
Some games are available for your computer to play
at home.  I don't know of any that you can play over the
internet for free.  The problem is that there isn't a wide
variety of games available for your PC.

The Bad:
As for actually purchasing an actual machine, you can almost
forget about it.  Only residents in certain non-gambling states may
actually purchase a machine without an actual gaming license.
Try looking up video poker machines on eBay and read
their terms of purchase...
