Play for (Almost) Free
Since we can't bring our favorite casino home with us, is there a way
we can play our favorite games at home?  Well, since I get asked this
question once a day, it's time this subject had it's own page.
I say "almost free" because you will have to buy the software.
(The software is relatively cheap compared to what I lose in the casino)

The Good:
Some games are available for your computer to play
at home.  I don't know of any that you can play over the
internet for free.  There are many software programs that have
knockoff versions of your casino favorite's but it ain't quite the same.

The Bad:
A big problem is that there isn't a wide
variety of actual video slot games available for your PC.
As for actually purchasing an actual machine, you can almost
forget about it.  Only residents in certain non-gambling states may
actually purchase a machine without a state gaming license.
Try looking up video poker/video slot machines on eBay
and read their terms of purchase...
Name brand machines go for around $2500 each.

Press Your Luck was one of the first video
slots that I ever played.  I would only
recommend this for that one game.

Probably the biggest assortment of actual
video slots to date.  However, I'm not in

game that I drool over, this game has
pretty good reviews at Amazon.com.

When this game came out, it was the
must have for video slot players.  However,
newer versions are now available that
improve upon this game.  If you find it cheap
somewhere, you may want to pick it up. 
I wouldn't buy it for $20...

Do not get this confused with "Monopoly
Casino: Vegas Edition"!  You will waste
your money (like I did) as the Vegas
Edition does not have the video slots!
I absolutely recommend this version if
you've enjoyed the classic Once Around
or Reel Estate games in the casino.
Finding this game could be a problem.
You can only buy used versions through
Amazon as this is an old game.

customize your own pay tables.

This game is real informative as how to play
perfect video poker.  Strategies change from
paytable to paytable.  I have some friends
who swear by this program.  Did you know
that sometimes you go for an inside straight?

He was supposed to write about it, but
ended up putting his whole advance
for the book on the line and made his
way into the tournament!

book and have a copy in my book queue.
Hundreds of reviews on Amazon seem to
enjoy it...  behind the scenes at the WSOP.

Features:
The now infamous story of the MIT
students who tried to take down Vegas.
They played blackjack in teams,
became high rollers, but eventually
Vegas caught up with them and
brought them down.

Over 250 reviews at Amazon on this book.
It is a fascinating story that has been shown
on TV over and over.  This book is a must
read for the casino enthusiast.
